We're seeking a dynamic senior public health practitioner to join our team and drive meaningful change through evidence informed action.
Main duties of the job
What you'll do
You'll be at the heart of work that seeks to address the root causes of health inequalities in Wales. Working collaboratively with teams in Public Health Wales and across sectors, you'll contribute to developing and delivering on several programme areas including:
- Fair work initiatives that promote healthier working conditions
- Addressing economic inactivity challenges that affect individual and community health and well-being
- Evidence-based resources that support public bodies to strengthen action on the wider determinants of health
Your analytical skills and creative thinking will directly contribute to Public Health Wales seven Strategic Plan priorities, helping us build a healthier, more equitable Wales.

- Co-ordinate the development and monitoring of project plans
- Ensure that public health interventions and activity are based on sound public health principles and evidence.
- Collect, synthesise, analyse and communicate evidence to inform public health action
- Develop, monitor and evaluate the delivery of project plans and relevant sections of the Public Health Wales Annual Plan.
- Ensure that all interventions are co-produced with the public and key partners.
- Monitor the allocated project budget in line with policies and procedures
