Following a positive recommendation from the UK National Screening Committee and the successful delivery of a pilot in the North Rhondda area, Welsh Government have approved for lung cancer screening to be implemented as a new screening programme in Wales. This represents a significant development for health services in Wales and this post offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven individual to play a key role in this, providing secretarial, administrative and organisational support to the team.
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive person to join our dynamic Lung Screening Team. You will be diligent in your approach, able to work independently and demonstrate an innovative, problem-solving approach, with strong stakeholder interaction and organisational skills. As part of a passionate, enthusiastic, supportive, and high performing team, you will build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Within this role you will contribute to the establishment of a new national programme that will deliver immediate and measurable benefits to the population of Wales.
Main duties of the job
This role involves providing comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the programme team, including arranging and servicing meetings, diary management and managing enquiries from a range of internal and external stakeholders, which may include confidential information. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing a variety of documents, maintaining distribution lists and databases, booking travel and accommodation, and supporting financial processes such as raising purchase orders and managing invoice queries once the service is operational.
We are looking for someone with experience of working in a secretarial or administrative post, with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities under pressure and use Microsoft Office applications confidently.
