Finance Manager - Accounts and Control

This role encompasses Agile Working, with the office base being Capital Quarter 2 in Cardiff. There may also be a need to travel to other Public Health Wales sites on occasions.

Main duties of the job

If successful, you will be responsible for the day-to-day performance and management of the Financial Accounts team.

This role provides the core statutory accounting functions and manages key financial systems and processes for the Trust. It includes responsibilities that are concerned with financial control procedures and policies, governance and legislative requirements, financial transactions, systems and external statutory reporting.

  • Experience of working at a senior level in a large complex organisation.
  • Experience in producing a wide range of financial and management information, reports and analyses to senior management and executive level teams.
  • Experience of providing financial training to, advising and producing guidance for nonfinance managers
  • Experience of attending senior management meetings and working with non-financial senior managers.
  • Proven ability of preparing financial accounts in line with legal requirements and agreed timetables with experience of producing good quality year-end accounts and working papers
