An opportunity has arisen to join the Diabetic Eye Screening Wales (DESW), Quality and Improvement Team.

We are seeking a high-calibre Quality Audit Support Officer. Do you want to work for a proactive, innovative team and have a passion for Quality and Improvement? We are seeking an individual who is inquisitive, highly motivated and delivery focused. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to proactively promote improvements and standards of excellence for Quality Improvement activities across the organisation.

Working under the direction of the Quality Assurance Lead and with the opportunity to work autonomously, the post holder will support the Annual Quality Audit plan across all areas of activity within DESW. They will be able to work to deadlines and provide high-level support to projects, which will include undertaking specific pieces of work and managing and monitoring information. They will have the ability to use initiative and judgment when required and operate effectively as part of a small and dedicated team.

Main duties of the job

To provide operational support for Quality Audit activity across DESW.

Ensure that audit activity is accurately documented and recorded, for presentation at relevant Committees, Board and Management Team and that results are reported for assurance purposes.

Contribute to and assist with the delivery of quality improvement initiatives and information packages throughout DESW

Promote the value of audit as a quality assurance and quality improvement process.

Keep up to date with NHS policies and guidance i.e. NICE

May coordinate and implement cross cover support to office functions within DESW.

Will provide appropriate support and advice on quality improvement activity to staff and managers across the whole Programme.

This is a key role to ensure efficient and effective support to the team which include preparing monthly/quarterly reports and providing high level support to projects and undertaking specific tasks.   • HND, NVQ level 4 or other relevant qualification or equivalent experience. Must include literacy and numeracy subjects.
