Job summary

As part of our commitment to continuous service development, you will play a crucial role in advancing improvement initiatives within Diabetic Eye Screening Wales (DESW). Reporting to the Service Improvement and Assurance Lead, you will act as a change agent, supporting and delivering a range of system-wide improvements. You will assist the programme to achieve it's aim of reducing the risk of avoidable sight loss for people who have a diagnosis of diabetes living in Wales.

You will have the opportunity to work autonomously, and with several bases across Wales: the ability for some hybrid working. You'll have the opportunity to work on impactful projects, contribute to service excellence, and grow your skills within a supportive team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide improvement and project support for the screening programme, including planning, delivery and implementation of actions and findings. They will produce reports and provide summaries of key programme activities, to a wide range of stakeholders. This will include analysis, collation and interpretation of programme data with accuracy and governance, escalating issues or problems if required.

The post holder will be key to contributing and assisting with the delivery of quality improvement initiatives and information packages throughout DESW.

They may coordinate and implement cross cover support to office functions within DESW and will be asked to provide appropriate support and advice on quality improvement activity to staff and managers across the whole Programme.

Essential

  • oEducated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.

Desirable

  • oEvidence of Continual Professional Development.
  • oFundamentals in Improvement/ Improvement in Practice qualification or equivalent improvement qualification.
  • oProject Management experience.

Experience

Essential

  • oHighly developed computer skills, including experience of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • oExperience of administering projects.
  • oExperience of Service Improvement methodology and implementing improvements within area of work.

Desirable

  • oPrevious NHS experience.
  • oExperience of dealing with confidential and sensitive data and appropriate maintenance and storage of records.
  • oExperience and understanding of change management, and information management and technology issues within the healthcare environment.
