Opportunities exist in our Cardiff (South East Wales) Division
Breast Test Wales plans, provides, manages and evaluates the NHS Breast Screening Programme in Wales. The South East Wales Region based on Cathedral Road, Cardiff close to the city centre. Employs 40 Mammographic staff, comprising of Advanced Practitioners, Radiographers and Assistant Practitioners.
We are actively seeking enthusiastic Radiographers to join our team. Applications are welcome from either experienced or newly qualified Radiographers who are interested in a career in breast screening. Experienced Radiographers will be appointed on a Band 6 scale with newly and recently qualified Radiographers at a Band 5. The South East Wales region is based on Cathedral Road, it has a static screening suite and assessment clinic facilities. We also operate 6 Mobile Screening Units which provide local screening services within the South East Wales area.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to either hold or study towards the post graduate MSc. module in Mammography. The post will involve travelling to and working on mobile units with some requirement for overnight stays ( at 3 screening sites once every 3 years). Newly and recently qualified Radiographers will be required to have at least 12 months clinical experience before commencing the post graduate module and after successfully completing will be upgraded to Band 6. There will also be a requirement to participate in rostered weekend working as necessary to meet the needs of the service.
As an organisation BTW positively supports advanced practice, with established routes for Radiographers to become Advanced Practitioners/ Consultant Radiographers according to service need.
