Job summary
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Data Support Officer to join our Communicable Disease Surveillance Centre (CDSC) team, within the Health Protection Division of Public Health Wales. The post holder will be a key member of the CDSC team supporting with monitoring and reporting on communicable diseases.
The post holder will be able to work in a flexible hybrid way of office-based and remote working. This will require the individual to be in the Cardiff office site a set number of days a week.
Main duties of the job
In this crucial role, you will support the CDSC by accurately entering data from respiratory reports and assisting in the creation of testing kits. Your efforts will directly contribute to the effectiveness of our surveillance and response activities.
The post holder main responsibilities will include accurately entering data from respiratory reports into our database systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy by cross-referencing and verifying information, and maintaining confidentiality while handling sensitive information. You will also assist in the preparation and assembly of communicable disease testing kits, ensuring all components are complete and ready for distribution, while following strict protocols to maintain quality and safety standards. You will also be required to provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the team during the off-peak times.
