Job summary

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced senior nurse, who has experience managing a project or programme at a strategic level to lead the All-Wales Nurse Staffing Programme on behalf of NHS Wales.

The post holder will play a strategic leadership role in further developing and supporting the implementation of the All-Wales Nurse Staffing Programme for NHS Wales. The national programme of work reflects the strategic aim of promoting the effective delivery of quality care through the provision of levels of nurse staffing based on clinical evidence and patient need.

This is a key lead post within NHS Wales and has a clear remit in defining, shaping, and developing the nurse staffing programme in Wales within the context of the wider multi -professional workforce. Acting as an innovator, motivator, key change agent and role model the post holder will play a pivotal role in supporting and influencing nurse staffing in Wales including quality improvement, national initiatives, service reconfiguration and new digitally enabled models of care.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an exceptional person who possess' the skills to manage and lead complex projects, plan and monitor work stream plans, present high-level reports and communicate effectively with a range of audiences. As the role involves working with nursing and management teams, the ability to engage with front line nursing teams and demonstrate sufficient insight and experience in dealing with the issues and challenges that arise, is essential.

The successful candidate will part of a friendly, supportive, and innovative team within the newly established NHS Executive and will receive a comprehensive induction programme, have access to a range of supportive mechanisms and a wealth of opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills.

The NHS Executive are supportive of flexible and agile working arrangements with attendance in their main office (Capital Quarter, Cardiff) on a part-time basis. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
