Job summary

We're the Improvement Cymru Academy, and form part of Improvement Cymru, the national quality improvement service for NHS Wales. The Improvement Cymru Academy draws upon local and international learning, bringing new complimentary models of improvement approaches to NHS Wales, as well as integrating offers from partner bodies within Wales. This brings a wider and deeper lens to improvement science, incorporating safety; flow; system-thinking; spread and scale and behaviour change, all based around a co-productive approach. The post will focus on supporting the creation of improvement learning and support, building upon the solid foundations already established.

Main duties of the job

You'll be a member of the Improvement Cymru Academy team and will through the delivery of high quality Improvement training and the provision of bespoke support enable improvement in the quality and safety of care across NHS Wales. The Improvement Cymru Academy brings together all of our Improvement skills development, coaching and guidance. We work closely with partners in health, social care, education and wider UK improvement partners to inform our improvement curricula development with our work aiming to make improvement easier to learn about, practice and deliver, providing the strong roots and connections of system-wide improvement. By providing knowledge and skills are our aim is to help enable health and care staff to provide the best possible service to people accessing health and care services in Wales.

The role will be based in Cardiff, at the main Improvement Cymru offices or Wrexham. Current working conditions support both a blended approach of office and home-working. At times your work may take you to different partner organisations across Wales. We respect that there is more to life than work and we offer a flexible working policy to help you balance your home and working life. This permanent post is offered on a full time, part time or job share basis. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • oImprovement certification (Improvement in Practice, Lean practitioner level etc.)
  • oEvidence of continued professional development
  • oTraining delivery qualification

Desirable

  • oCoaching qualification
  • oProject/programme management qualification or equivalent experience in leading programme/projects with demonstrable outcomes.

  • Significant management experience in a senior role including staff management, ideally within the NHS or Social Care.
