Fixed term / secondment for 16 months to meet the needs of the service.
We are seeking new SACT Lead Pharmacist/s to join the existing team, to work collaboratively providing local knowledge and leadership, supporting an All-Wales approach. This role is undertaken on a sessional basis and there are two sessions available (equivalent of 0.2 WTE), which can be shared with two candidates if required. The successful candidate/s would require relevant post graduate experience, to take on this challenging role which will provide clinical leadership, strategic direction and expertise for the Cancer Treatment Programme. They will act as a professional resource and advisor, to provide support and guidance on all matters concerning SACT pharmacy services including embedding principles of co-production, Value Based Care and prudent healthcare. The post holder/s will be responsible for leading the All Wales SACT Medicines Management Group and will lead on a range of objectives to develop and improve national guidance and processes, safety, and patient experience, and strengthen collaboration with Pharmacist colleagues working across SACT services in Wales.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will act as a professional specialist resource and advisor, providing expert support and guidance for cancer services medicine management.
- The post holder will build effective relationships with the wider health economy including General Practitioners, Commissioners, Voluntary Sector, Local Authority and NHS Wales to influence the local agenda and to raise the profile of SACT Pharmacy Services across Wales.
- The post holder will function as a core member of the Wales Cancer Network Team and participate within the Network team on that basis. As a core team member the post holder will be required to lead on a limited number of generic Network issues.
- The post holder will provide motivation and encouragement to pharmacists working in SACT services across Wales to review their practice and drive innovation and change.
- The post holder will provide specialist advice and support regarding SACT for Community Pharmacists across Wales.
- The post holder will provide leadership and support for Pharmacy Technicians involved in SACT services across Wales
- The post holder will be responsible for developing SACT services pharmacy policies for the Wales Cancer Network.

They will develop and provide leadership on the strategic direction of Medicines Management within the Wales Cancer Network, ensuring that optimum standards of care are provided through the leadership and management of professional and clinical standards.
