Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Education Facilitator to join the National Pathology Programme, in the NHS Wales Executive. The Programme is responsible for supporting the delivery of the actions contained in the Pathology Statement of Intent and recovery from Covid-19.
The post holder will work on a 12 month 'pilot' exercise as a Practice Educator Facilitator (PEF) for Pathology services in South East Wales, covering the three health boards. The post holder will investigate the training and education challenges facing pathology in the region, and will identify solutions. The role will explore how a PEF can support Pathology training structures and teams within a health board/trust or region to provide an effective scientific learning environment. The post-holder will work with a range of stakeholders to develop training programmes (including assessments) and potentially deliver laboratory-related training.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be part of the National Pathology Programme team, based River House, Gwaelod-y-Garth, Cardiff, however staff are currently working from home. The role will involve travelling around NHS Wales, particularly to the three South East Wales health boards.
