Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Programme Manager to play a leading role in the Workforce and Education Workstream within the National Imaging Programme hosted within the NHS Wales Executive. The post holder will support the delivery of the 3-5 year vision for Imaging Services across Wales in line with the Statement of Intent for Imaging 2018 and the NHS Wales Diagnostic Strategy. The post holder will in addition provide support and some leadership to the other programmes within the portfolio.

The post holder will have excellent personal and interpersonal skills and be able to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels. They must also have excellent communication and organisation skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Some of experience of working within an imaging department or workforce and organisational development would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will work as part of a small but growing team based in the NHS Wales Executive offices in River House, Gwaelod-y-Garth, Cardiff, however currently home working is available.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

To assist the National Imaging Clinical and Portfolio Leads to develop the strategic plans to support the Workforce and Education workstream within the National Imaging Programme. The plan will support the strategy to develop an overall Imaging Workforce Model for Wales in line with the agreed 3-5-year vision of the National Imaging Programme.

The Programme Manager will provide managerial leadership and will share responsibility and accountability for key functions and tasks, working together to ensure that the programme is informed by service and national requirements, fully specified and cognisant of expected standards.
