Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional candidate to join Public Health Wales as the National Co-ordinator for the JUSTB Smokefree programme as part of the Health Improvement Division within Public Health Wales. The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering health promoting activity within schools or other children and young people settings, an understanding of secondary schools in Wales and have a positive track record in managing a delivery-focused team.

Main duties of the job

JUSTB Smokefree is an evidence-based smoking prevention intervention developed and delivered to schools across Wales by Public Health Wales. The National Co-ordinator - JUSTB will lead and manage delivery of the JUSTB intervention to target schools to ensure delivery of a safe and effective service that meets performance requirements.

The postholder will also coordinate planning and delivery for the JUSTB intervention programme at a national level acting as a primary contact for the programme and ensuring it is effectively operating as a key strand of A Smoke-Free Wales strategy and Public Health Wales approach to maximising the potential of schools as health promoting settings. The role includes up to two days per week direct delivery in schools.

Ability and willingness to travel across Wales including some overnight stays to support in-school delivery is essential to the role.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
