In this key role, you'll:

  • Lead and support the daily business operations of our Workforce Education & Development function.

  • Provide dedicated business and project support to senior colleagues, driving forward our People Development Plan and education programmes.

  • Inspire and guide our business administration team through effective line management, mentorship, and coaching.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the daily business support of the Workforce Education & Development Team, applying their skills and knowledge of business management and the organisation to their role and providing support for financial, human resource and communication of key information across the team and to key stakeholders across directorates. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining Trust training record management systems and administration processes and operations.

The post holder will be required to manage and oversee the secretarial and administrative support to the Education & Development senior team, Learning & Development Managers and other staff within the team, in particular operating efficiently and effectively and smoothly co-ordinating their day-to-day business arrangements. Where the Education & Development team has Association of Ambulance Service Chief Executives (AACE) involvement, provide secretarial and administrative support for the benefit of the sector.

The post holder will provide liiness Administration Managerne management, mentorship, coaching and co-ordinate activities for administrative staff within the team and support staff ensuring they are providing strategic oversight to their work.

  • Degree level or equivalent relevant experience
  • Excellent standard of competency in the use of Office 365 including data storage and retrieval apps
  • Specialist knowledge of mentoring and coaching
  • Evidence of continued professional development

Desirable

  • Sound knowledge of the organisation and function of the Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust
  • Understanding of Electronic Staff Record (ESR) System
  • Understanding of Microsoft SharePoint and apps such as Lists, Planner and Loop

  • Experience of successfully operating in a sensitive environment
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at a senior level and to a range of audiences.
