Job summary
This is a new role is within the Digital Directorate providing business analysis services to digital transformation projects, programmes and services on an assignment basis. These roles are being introduced to enable a more user-centred, inclusive and problem-first approach to digital innovation and transformation, enhancing adoption of digital solutions (including optimising what we already have where possible) and measuring the impact of our initiatives.
The focus of the Business Analysis function is to clearly elicit, define and document stakeholder requirements. However, this is a 'full lifecycle' role with possible involvement from business case development to operational review, via requirements, design, development, test and implementation.
This role is part of our new dynamic Digital Innovation and Transformation Team at the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS University Trust. This team is at the forefront of driving our digital transformation strategy, focusing on innovative solutions to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency. We aim to optimise existing processes while integrating new technologies to deliver impactful, scalable improvements. Our team prioritises user experience and service design, ensuring that our solutions are intuitive, inclusive, and accessible. Additionally, this team will support change management, continuous improvement, and evaluation to foster a culture of ongoing development and excellence.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the newly formed Digital Innovation and Transformation team, this exciting role will be expected to work closely with clinical, operational and technical colleagues to facilitate the transformation of clinical, corporate and operational services aimed at improving the health and well-being of the population that we serve.
The role will be expected to lead the process of understanding end-user requirements, offering opportunities to add value and remove waste to improve business processes aided by the development and/or procurement and implementation of the right digital solutions.
The role will play a key role in ensuring that our systems and processes are designed and adhere to the relevant national, local and statutory standards including quality, safety, data and design. This role will also enable inclusive engagement with frontline staff, patients and the public, gathering requirements to support the co-designing of transformation initiatives. The postholder should champion digital inclusion and health equity as part of requirements gathering.
Leadership, collaboration and a strong team ethic will be fundamental to the success of the role.
