Job summary

The Clinical Directorate are delighted to be recruiting a Clinical Logistics Assistant. The position will Provide clinical equipment and logistics support to the Operations directorate in the delivery of its service to the Trust.

The Clinical logistics Assistant will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, calibration, and repair for a range of mechanical/electronic medical devices, including manual defibrillators, emergency lifting cushion compressors and AEDs, ensuring they are in safe working order.

This post will support the commissioning of electronic tagging of clinical equipment in WAST vehicles and premises, and the successful candidate will work closely with the ICT team and the operations directorate.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Provide clinical equipment and logistics support to the Operations directorate . Carrying out routine maintenance, calibration and repair for a range of mechanical/electronic medical devices, including manual defibrillators, emergency lifting cushion compressors and AEDs, ensuring they are in safe working order.

Maintaining accurate maintenance and commissioning records.co-ordinate the commissioning service for all new equipmentProviding procurement advice and leadership to all locality management teams, liaising with the NWSSP Procurement Team as required.

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Engineering Field or working towards
  • Professional mechanical and electronics skills/knowledge acquired through manufacturers courses and relevant experience
  • Full UK standard driving license

Desirable

  • Manual Handling Passport A&B. ILM qualification. Valid first aid qualification.
  • C1 category driving license
  • Knowledge of procedures for repair and maintenance of medical devices

Experience

  • Practical experience of using test and measuring equipment
  • Demonstrable experience of providing front line customer service

Desirable

  • Have experience of stock control and logistics
  • Experience of working in a clinical environment
