Job summary

The overall purpose of Informatics has been defined as:

To enable, provide and promote the effective use of data, information, knowledge and technology to support and improve health and health care delivery.

Therefore, the role of Informatics is to ensure an NHS organisation has the required cost effective systems, information and technology services needed to provide excellent clinical care to its patients, in conjunction with its partners throughout the wider health community.

The role of Senior Information Analyst is responsible for the production of timely, accurate and intelligent business intelligence and information to inform the operational and strategic decision-making process - it is through the business intelligence provided by analysts that the Trust drives continuous clinical and quality improvement for the people of Wales.

Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for a talented and experienced analyst to join our digital team that has set out an ambitious digital strategy over the next five years to deliver the very best information and digital solutions with patient care at its core . You will be self-motivated and be able to perform a variety of predefined statutory statistical returns, fulfilling ad-hoc requests for data analysis and the continued development of new information solutions using the Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack, SSRS and PowerBI.

You will need to build close working relationships with senior clinicians, operational colleagues and support staff across the Trust, so we are looking for someone that is very personable and confident with a strong background working with clients to understand their business needs, providing actionable insights and information solutions. The successful candidate must be a good team player, be able to manage their own workload and work to tight deadlines successfully.
