Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Ambulance Care Directorate as an Operations Manager with the Central and West Area covering Swansea Bay Health Board area.

Main duties of the job

The post provides an exciting opportunity to join a team that is responsible for the delivery of non emergency Ambulance transport across the Swansea Bay Health Board area. The team comprises of around 90 staff and is a busy and demanding role which requires creative thinking and hard work to continuously improve the service delivery across Ambulance Care. The role provides an opportunity to challenge yourself and develop your management and strategic skills, working closely across all Ambulance Care teams and other departments within WAST, but also having to negotiate and work with numerous outside agencies, including the voluntary sector, private sector and key commissioning stakeholders.

Whilst the post holder will be based in Matrix One, you will be required to work at various locations across the region.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Educated to degree level in relevant area such as Business or Healthcare
  • Significant experience and specialised knowledge in Business, Logistics or Healthcare.

Desirable

  • Above average knowledge of performance information, including data interpretation.
  • Experience of managing at a senior level within the NHS. (i.e. managing managers)
  • SLA and/or account management
  • NHS complaints processes
  • Knowledge of NEPTS in the UK
