We are now seeking entrants from the 2025 cohort of Graduate Paramedics to join our NQP programme, where you will be supported in your transition to autonomous clinical practitioner and progression into the role of Qualified Paramedic (band 6).
Whilst we'll teach you to respond on blue lights, you will already be preparing for the transition from Student Paramedic to NQP, be in the process of completing your Degree in Paramedic Science and be in the process of achieving your HCPC registration. Without question, you will have a real passion for patient care, together with excellent communication and people skills. You will be a committed team player and relish the opportunities to take decisive action in a rewarding and challenging career where no two days are the same.
Please note that holding a full C1 license at the point of application is not an essential requirement, However the license will need to be obtained and evidenced by Monday 16th June 2025 ahead of interview attendance.
All successful applicants must pass the C1 driving test and an internal driving assessment before commencing in post with us. In addition, the Trust will only accept applicants who hold a maximum of 3 penalty points and no previous convictions for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Main duties of the job
The Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust will provide you with a range of opportunities to provide care for patients within the community.
In BCU you will have access to a comprehensive range of pathways to support the delivery of local care.
You will also have direct access to the Paramedic Pathfinder tool to assist you in your clinical decision making, and receive support from our growing number of Advanced Paramedic Practitioners. Our Emergency Ambulances are also amongst the best equipped in the UK, giving you scope to practice across a full case-mix of patients and developing your clinical skills.
