Job summary

An exciting development opportunity has arisen for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Band 8a Business Manager within the People and Culture Directorate.

The post holder is the central Business Manager in the People and Culture Directorate responsible for leading the coordination and monitoring of the business planning, performance review and measurement to inform actions for improvement across the People and Culture Directorate. The post holder will lead the coordination of Directorate Local Delivery Plan (LDP) process and coordinate the performance review progress against key objectives set within the Trust's Integrated Medium Term Plan (IMTP) for the Directorate with regards to delivery within agreed timescales.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The Post holder leads the coordination of the business of the People and Culture Directorate working with the Heads of Service for the following functions:

  • Education and Development
  • Culture, Inclusion and Wellbeing
  • Occupational Health
  • Organisational Development
  • Workforce Transformation and Planning
  • People Services

The Post holder will:

  • Support the Director of People in the management, design and delivery of the Directorate Local Delivery Plan to inform efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery within the financial resources.
  • Lead the coordination of the Directorate planning and review for each quarterly performance review working with key corporate Directorates including - Planning & Performance, Finance and Information, QSPE and Corporate Governance.
  • Support the Directorate in the development and implementation of business cases for new developments/innovations.
  • Lead the coordination of the Directorate annual review to inform priorities in the Directorate LDP.
  • Promote the Trust vision, behaviours and strategic aims across the Directorate and wider organisation.
  • Be the lead manager for the Directorate for Business Continuity and planning to ensure robust and effective local plans are in place and reviewed regularly.
  • Coordinate the process for the collation and review of the Directorate Risk Register.
