Job summary

The post holder will work as part of the Finance Team and support the delivery of its functions and objectives to ensure that work is completed in line with financial timescales. In particular, the post holder will support the Central Management Accounting Team or Financial Accounts Team on a rotational basis.

Main duties of the job

The Trust is looking to appoint a new team member. The post holder will be based at the Trust's Headquarters at St Asaph, but there will be an expectation of working from home some of the time.

The post holder will work as part of the Finance Team and support the delivery of its functions and objectives to ensure that work is completed in line with financial timescales. In particular, the post holder will support the Central Management Accounting or Financial Accounts Team on a rotational basis.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work accurately and quickly, have good communication skills and a broad range of IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.

Experience of working within a finance office environment, is desirable but not essential.

This is a developmental post and rotational duties across finance will be an integral part of this role to provide support depending on seasonal demands and on-going projects. Areas of involvement will include financial accounting, capital accounting, cost accounting and financial management.

Opportunities to undertake professional studies including AAT are actively supported by the Trust.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential

  • Good standard of education with a minimum of five GCSEs NVQ Level 3/AAT Intermediate level or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through knowledge of finance processes, finance computer systems, and debtor procedures ECDL Advanced or equivalent experience of IT packages. With particular competence in the use of e-mail, spreadsheets, word processing and financial ledger systems. There will be a requirement for both speed and accuracy of input. Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, MS Outlook

Desirable

  • Working towards Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Use of Oracle or other general ledger systems

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in constructing simple spreadsheets and writing formal letters.

Desirable

  • Experience of working within an office environment, preferably finance.
