Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Sister/Charge
Nurse within Older Persons Medicine.
Ward F2 is a thirty-four bedded male, OPM ward specialising in the
assessment, treatment and discharge of elderly patients. The wards
objective is to create and maintain flow through acute OPM areas, whilst delivering
compassionate care to patients and supporting the use of external healthcare
providers.
Excellent communication skills, the ability to support and empower
others, a passion for delivering high clinical standards are qualities required
for this role.
The post-holder will support the Matron in the delivery of a cost-effective
service, collaborating with members of the multidisciplinary team to provide quality
and safe care for all patients. The Ward Leader will have a responsibility for governance
working alongside the Practice Education team to facilitate change in response
to incidents and feedback at all levels.
The successful candidate will provide a high standard of clinical
leadership and expertise while focusing on patient safety and experience. This will
incorporate the development and supervision of all ward staff including the F2
senior nursing team.
Working for Older Persons Medicine the post-holder will be part of
a Senior Nursing team passionate about effective and caring leadership. The OPM
care group provides specific training and leadership development to all levels
of nursing, to provide constant personal development opportunities.
Main duties of the job
- Lead and coordinate the nursing team,
taking continuing responsibility on a 24 hours basis for the management and organisation
of the clinical area.
- Through effective leadership
ensure the clinical team deliver a safe, effective, responsive, caring and well-led service where compassion is
embedded and a positive patient experience is achieved.

clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and act as a professional role model.

- Promote and set high standards of professional nursing care and maintain the delivery of quality care within the trust policies, protocols and guidelines. Implement the trust values and beliefs ensuring they are embedded into everyday practice and evaluate their impact on the patients experience.
