The Clinical Delivery Division is the largest, most diverse Division in Portsmouth Hospitals University Trust. There are over 2000 members of staff from more than 20 professional groups with a budget of £137m. There are two Care Groups:

Critical Care, Theatres, Anaesthetics & HSDU (CHAT): covering critical care, HSDU, anaesthetics, theatres and clinical engineering.

Clinical Support Services (CSS): covering imaging/radiology, pathology, therapies, dietetics, pharmacy, medical physics and neurophysiology.

We provide services mainly from our site at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth; however, we dont just cover Portsmouth. We provide services across Southeast Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Main duties of the job

As our new Divisional Director of Operations, Clinical Delivery you would support the Divisional Director to deliver the effective integrated clinical, operation and financial performance of the Division and you would:

Be responsible for ensuring national and local access targets are achieved, along with ensuring all aspects of people, performance and financial objectives are delivered as per the divisional and Trust business plan.

Provide strong leadership at a divisional level, ensuring that there are appropriate systems and processes in place to deliver objectives and drive forward the service to improve the operational effectiveness of the Division.

Work with the Divisional Director, Divisional Nurse Director and care group teams to secure clinical engagement in the day-to-day activities of the Trust, and in performance improvements and service developments, working with the leads in other Divisions where appropriate.

Represent the Division at local levels, developing partnerships, sharing best practice and integrating this knowledge within the Trust.

Promote innovation and quality improvement to ensure best-practice services for patients and positive working experience for staff through Delivering Excellence.
