This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced paediatric nurse with high dependency knowledge and a passion for education to play a key role in supporting the development of clinical skills, confidence and competence across our paediatric workforce.

Main duties of the job
As our Paediatric High Dependency Practice Educator, you will work closely with the Senior Nursing Team, Ward Managers, and Learning and Development colleagues to ensure our staff receive high quality, hands on clinical education. You will be visible on the shop floor, actively supporting staff with real time guidance, structured on the job teaching, and skills development in the paediatric high dependency environment.
Your work will directly contribute to strengthening the capability of the team, improving patient experience, and supporting safe, effective care delivery.

A registered children's nurse with significant experience in paediatric high dependency or acute paediatric care Passionate about education, mentoring, and supporting others to grow Approachable, patient, and confident working alongside staff in busy clinical environments An excellent communicator who can inspire and motivate colleagues Committed to maintaining high standards of care and promoting continuous improvement Enthusiastic about developing safe, skilled paediatric clinicians
A teaching and or a mentorship qualification and previous experience in an education or supervisory role are desirable but not essential we welcome applicants who bring passion and the right attitude, and we will support your development.

- Current RNC registration with NMC and any other relevant post registration qualifications
- Evidence of Level 6 Study
- Substantial clinical experience in a paediatric high dependency setting
- Practice assessor and practice supervisor skills
- Demonstrable competency in assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care for children requiring high dependency support
Desirable
- Level 7 Masters level study in education, advanced practice, leadership, or paediatric specialty
- Formal teaching qualification (e.g., PGCert in Education)
- Experience delivering simulation based training
