Main duties of the job
Specialty Medicine at PHU is a vast, dynamic portfolio covering Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Endoscopy, Diabetes, and Respiratory. This is a role for a resilient, high-energy leader.
You will work alongside the Care Group Director and Senior Matron to foster a positive culture. Your role is to ensure that the Care Group structure is fit for purpose to deliver performance standards including RTT, DMO1 and Cancer, whilst supporting a strong learning and open culture through a shared governance approach.

You will manage a complex budget that requires balancing the high costs of specialised clinical staffing with the need for efficiency and innovation.
You will be at the forefront of the Trust's most pressing operational challenges, ensuring that our medical specialties operate with maximum productivity and efficiency.
You will be the operational lead for a diverse group of clinical specialties. Your primary focus will be the delivery of integrated clinical, operational, and financial performance. This means bridging the gap between urgent care demand and elective specialty capacity. You will lead the Care Group's annual budget setting, manage complex RTT and Endoscopy access standards, and drive the move toward comprehensive 7/7 service delivery to improve patient outcomes and discharge efficiency.
