Main duties of the job
Clinical Coding is an integral part of the NHS that supports financial income for the Trust, national and local statistics, healthcare planning, and much more. The importance of coded data requires the highest level of accuracy and diligence from Clinical Coders, and because of that training is a continued focus in the team, with opportunities to attend coding workshops throughout the year.
The successful candidates will be put on the National Clinical Coding Standards course, undertaken by our Approved Coding Trainer, to provide them with the foundations of Clinical Coding. Once completed they will each be assigned an Accredited Clinical Coder as a mentor to support them throughout their training. This role has a strong focus on training with opportunities for role progression within the team.
