This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who can manage their own workload and is interested in collaborating with different teams across the Trust to relaunch our smokefree initiative at PHU and IWT.
Main duties of the job
Isle of Wight NHS Trust (IWT) and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU) have collaborated with our local Public Health Teams to create a new Smokefree Lead post across both Acute hospital sites. Working with the Head of Occupational Health and Wellbeing and in close contact with the Public Health Teams, your role will prepare the Trust - our patients, our staff and our community - in our commitment to be smokefree and to align the Trust with the UK Government pledge that the UK will be smokefree by 2030.

This role works clinically and strategically to lead the implementation of the Trusts Smoke Free Policy and Plan, developing access to stop smoking treatment in a variety of settings.
To improve and promote the delivery of tobacco dependency training. Working across sites to support the delivery of the service key performance indicators and other reporting indicators for tobacco dependency.
To develop positive links with local services and community services (e.g. GP practices and pharmacies) to develop and improve tobacco dependency services.
To take a data led approach to work, supporting with data analysis and interpretation for reporting purposes.

- Knowledge of health service or social care management, including change management acquired through training and experience to masters level equivalent.
- Experience of working in smoking cessation within health and social care networks and systems.
- Experience of managing a project team.
- Experience in wider government departments providing data intelligence.
Desirable
- Subject matter experience across a number of key areas relating to tobacco dependency.
- Knowledge of Health Inequalities and prevention priorities relating to smoking.

- Demonstrated experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments.
- Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment.
