Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is looking to appoint a dedicated and flexible full-time Consultant Physician in Rehabilitation Medicine. This is a replacement post that offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development of specialist rehabilitation services in Portsmouth and South-East Hampshire.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will join a team of two other Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine, providing comprehensive services across the region.
  • This role is pivotal in improving, strengthening, and developing specialist services, with a focus on both Neurorehabilitation and Prosthetic Rehabilitation, adaptable to the appointee's interests and negotiations.

  • Collaborate with the Wessex Trauma Network, enhancing regional trauma rehabilitation services.
  • Contribute to the development and governance of Rehabilitation services.
  • Engage in Educational Supervision, Departmental, and Care Group leadership roles.
  • Participate in service improvement projects, audits, and represent the service at Royal College and national levels.
  • Opportunity to develop a research portfolio.
