Job title: Supply Chain Coordinator
Reporting to: Supply Chain Supervisor
Accountable to: Head of Supply Chain

The Trusts Procurement and Supply Department needs an enthusiastic team player to join our Supply Chain Team, to provide essential services to wards and departments, throughout the Queen Alexandra and St. Marys Hospitals. Some knowledge of supply chain management and the use of hand held bar code readers would be useful, but not essential, as would the use of Procurement and Inventory systems, however full training will be provided. You should have experience of working in a customer services environment and be prepared to undertake light lifting. Keyboard skills are essential. You will have a flexible approach to work and the ability to communicate well with customers and colleagues. You will be able to prioritise your workload whilst understanding that you will have to meet deadlines. Whilst our Procurement team is based at Lakeside North Harbour, our Supply Chain Teams are based at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth as well as at St. Marys in Newport IoW.
Main duties of the job
Process routine information advising customers and work colleagues using persuasive skill to maximise cost effectiveness within the Supply Chain. Understand and follow routine Supply Chain Procedures to ensure the agreed levels of service are achieved. Resolve any queries, uplifts or collections on behalf of the customer liaising with NHS Supply Chain and commercial suppliers. Purchase goods and services through the E Procurement systems against contracts as requested by the budget holders. Ensure all stock review meetings are planned and carried out effectively. Take responsibility for stock levels for departments using the Supply Chain Service. Maintain an acceptable working relationship with hospital departments ensuring quick and effective response to enquiries. Take responsibility to ensure accurate data entry is carried out to meet input deadlines within supplies systems. Frequently works alone using own initiative on routine decisions whilst operating standard procedures. Ensure adequate manual handling equipment is available to carry out routine lifting duties in a safe environment in line with the Trust Policy. Inform the customer of any potential problems within the Supply Chain to ensure adequate stock or stock alternatives are available for end user. Ensure all stock rooms are maintained in a tidy condition to meet current Health & Safety regulations.
