Main duties of the job
We are a nurse led unit within the St Marys Hospital on the Isle of Wight, employed by Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust.
We have a part time role as a Senior Healthcare Support Worker to work within renal. We are a friendly nurse led unit caring for approximately 50-60 patients every week.You will possess good communication and interpersonal skills with a keen interest to develop your professional potential. Support and development will be provided through a competency-based framework.
We enjoy that we know our patients well and see the same patients every week. We are on St Marys site but detached from the main hospital.

- Work under the supervision of registered health care professionals and assist the healthcare team with the provision of clinical care for a defined group of patients.
- Ensure patient safety is maintained and patient experience is positive by treating all patients, relatives and colleagues with respect, dignity, and courtesy in accordance with Trust values.
- To you act within your sphere of competence, seeking assistance/advice when outside job role scope.
You should have:
- Excellent in communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
- A positive and proactive attitude.
- A desire to deliver a high standard of care to chronically ill patients.
We work Monday to Saturday 6:30 am until 23:30 in a 3 shift a day pattern.
