Main duties of the job

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with great administrative skills to join our Portsmouth Hospitals Charity & Isle of Wight NHS Trust Charity team! Reporting to the Fundraising Administrator, the Charity Administrator is key to the day to day running of the Charities.

The role is broad and will cover a range of tasks across both our fundraising and grant making functions. You should be a confident administrator, able to prioritise a busy workload but also keen to work across the team and colleagues in our hospitals. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join a supportive and ambitious team.

This vacancy is part of the Single Corporate Services Division.

Why are we changing the way we deliver Corporate Services?Working as a partnership, both IWT and PHU have a shared vision for excellence in care for our patients and communities; with a set of strategic aims underpinning how we will achieve this. The creation of a single corporate service is essential for us to support our clinical and operational services, and our wider transformation programme.

The single corporate service is delivered across both organisation. You may be based at either IWT or PHU and individuals may be required to undertake business travel between sites. For leaders managing staff across multi-site locations, you will need to be visible and provide in person leadership. The arrangements and frequency will be agreed locally.

As the Charity Administrator will be a motivated and organised individual.You will be responsible for:

  • Managing the Portsmouth Hospitals Charity office on a daily basis. Responding to all calls and visitors.
  • Supporting some charity administration for the Isle of Wight NHS Trust Charity (IoW), including marketing, fundraising and supporter care
  • Supporting the fundraising, marketing finance and grants administration across Portsmouth Hospitals Charity.
  • Portsmouth Hospitals Charity and the Isle of Wight NHS Trust Charity are the two partner charities to their respective Trusts. Both raise funds to help enhance patient care and support staff welfare.

  • 5 GCSEs C and above or equivalent.

Experience

  • Working knowledge of office procedures.

  • Experience of working in a supporter/customer facing role.
