Location: Across sites, both Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (frequency of visits to each site to be agreed locally)
Position Type: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Band 8a - £53,754 -£60,503 per annum

As such, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Medical HR Manager to help shape our delivery and ensure we are providing a high quality professional and responsive Medical HR function.
As a Medical HR Manager, you will offer guidance and assistance across the Trust on intricate and occasionally contentious matters concerning Medical Personnel. Your role will involve ensuring that all medical staff and managers have access to appropriate advice, while also promoting a consistent approach to guarantee the correct implementation of employment legislation, policies, procedures, and terms and conditions.

The single corporate service is delivered across both organisation. You may be based at either IWT or PHU and individuals may be required to undertake business travel between sites. For leaders managing staff across multi-site locations, you will need to be visible and provide in person leadership. The arrangements and frequency will be agreed locally

- To work collaboratively with HR & OD Business Partners, ensuring the sharing of best practice, informed planning, decision-making and consistency of approach.
- Support managers and Employee Relations to manage medical staff issues relating to training, disciplinary and grievance, sickness; liaising with appropriate internal and external bodies (the Postgraduate Dean, NCAS & GMC) where necessary in line with Trust Policy, Deanery Policy and the TCS.
- To initiate dialogue and liaise with colleagues in the wider People arena so that they are informed on People issues in the Trusts and where appropriate, the local health economy.

- Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Experience

- Extensive senior workforce experience in advising senior managers on best practice HR approaches, particularly relating to change management
- Experience in successful leading and delivering OD projects
- Experience in developing and implementing OD and Workforce strategy
- Experience in developing and implementing HR policies and practice
- Experience in implementing significant changes to pay systems and other terms and conditions.
- Experience in managing complex and sensitive employment relations issues
- Experience in coaching and training managers in OD and HR issues.
- Demonstrable knowledge of current thinking on good HR practice on all aspects of HR management
