Main duties of the job
Main duties will be to welcome and register patients upon entry to the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal wards. Answering telephone calls, forwarding any clinical queries to the midwife in charge. Administrative duties include assisting in booking patient appointments, admission and discharge of patients, scanning of confidential patient information and liaising with the booking and outpatient teams.
Shift patterns are flexible, consisting of 12 hour shifts across weekdays, weekends and nights to provide 24/7 cover for the wards across the team.

This role is ward-based with flexible working and training opportunities available. We also offer the chance to work across the service in our antenatal and outpatient areas where further opportunities and experience can be gained.

As a Trust, we are lucky to have standalone birth centres, co-located units, and home birth options alongside our labour ward and hospital-based midwifery-led unit.
