Hours: 20 Hours Per week ( Monday to Friday 8am - 12pm )

Main duties of the job

  • Provides internal supply chain services e.g. receipts, distribution and/or materials management using computerised receipts, storage and/or bar coded data capture systems.
  • Unpacks and checks delivered items against delivery/order information, takes corrective action, maintains audit records.
  • May hold and store ward/department stock records and replenish products in accordance with agreed procedures.
  • Liaises with internal personnel and external suppliers on supplies/stock management/rationalisation/delivery- related issues.

NHS South of England Procurement Services (SOEPS) is hosted by Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. We provide end-to-end procurement and supply chain services for Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust as well as other NHS Clients including Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board (ICB). The position is currently based in our procurement office in Portsmouth.

We have an exciting opportunity available for a part-time Supply Chain Assistant working 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am - 12pm to join NHS South of England Procurement Services at the Queen Alexandra Hospital and its forward thinking Supply Chain Team.

The Supply Chain Assistant is a key role and requires a professional, hard-working and motivated individual who is expected to have an understanding of end to end supply chain operations and the use of hand held bar code readers would be useful however not essential. Full training will be provided and you should have experience of working in a customer services environment.

To succeed in this post you must have excellent communication, interpersonal skills and time management skills, attention to detail and a working knowledge of computers for emails, stock maintenance systems and other requirements.

Applicants must be able to lift, carry, handle and transport goods across sites, be trustworthy and reliable and able to handle confidential items. Applicants will be required to undertake any further training required for the role.

This is an extremely busy and interesting department to work in and we are one of the most advanced supply chain departments within the NHS.You will meet a different challenge every day and the successful candidates will be an integral part of the team providing our customers a first class service for theadministration of their assets and overall application of its lifecycle. a track record of coordinating and organising stock.
