An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Nurse to join us in the Cardiac Catheter Labs.
Our cardiac suite consists of a 14 bedded day unit, 3 cardiac cath labs and a procedure room. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse with a minimum of 12 months experience post-qualification. The successful candidate will be joining a wider multi-disciplinary team managing both elective and acute inpatient cardiac procedures.
The role will involve caring for patients pre and post op, rotating around the department to assist with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), Pacemaker and complex device implantation, Electrophysiology studies, Transoesophageal Echocardiograms and Stress Echoes.
Main duties of the job
This position will provide the opportunity to enhance your clinical cardiology knowledge and develop a unique skill set. As part of the multi-disciplinary team we are committed to providing high quality patient-centred care.
You should be able to demonstrate your commitment to ongoing personal and professional development and the ability to adapt to the diverse and variable demands of caring for patients within the Cath Lab.
The successful candidate will have variable working hours between 8am to 8pm (Monday to Saturday) and contribute to the out of hours on call cath lab rota following a period of training.
As some procedures are carried out under radiation it is imperative that you are physically able to wear a lead apron for the correct level of radiation protection.
