We are looking for a positive, resilient, compassionate and enthusiastic healthcare support worker. You should have a desire for learning and developing your skills and knowledge, we will support you to develop skills such as wound care and plastering.
You will work closely with our Registered nurses and Emergency Nurse Practitioners to ensure that patients pathway through both the Emergency Care Centre and Urgent Treatment Centre is safe, efficient and within a timely manner.
You must have previous care experience, the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, have good written and verbal communication skills, and enjoy working in constant and rapidly changing environments.
Main duties of the job
It is essential that you are able to work across both sites of PHU and Gosport War Memorial Hospital.

Under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals, you will be assisting the team with the provision of clinical care for a defined group of patients. In addition, you will take all possible steps to safeguard the welfare, safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff.
Typical day-to day duties include:
Provide care for patients, helping to maintain their personal hygiene, which will sometimes include working with bodily fluids
Provide physical comfort for patients, whilst ensuring their privacy and dignity is always maintained

- English and Maths qualification GCSE or Functional Skills at Level 1 or internationally recognised equivalent
Desirable
- Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care/Clinical Health or equivalent relevant experience.
- Interested in undertaking further training.
- QCF Level 3 (or equivalent) in care or modules relevant to the area.
