We are very lucky to have recently moved into larger brand-new premises based on site within QA Hospital and therefore seeking more Pharmacy Support Assistants within our Dispensary team.

Main duties of the job

This is a busy, varied role, based within a large diverse team providing medicines to over 1000 inpatients, clinics and outpatients every day. You will have excellent opportunities to learn and fully utilise your strong organisation skills and great communication ability daily, where you will be making a direct impact to the rest of the Pharmacy team and patients too. As you will be handling large boxes etc, physical fitness is a must; it is not a sit at a desk job and involves walking, lifting etc so perfect for those who love to be on the go! If you are enthusiastic and reliable you will do just great here at PHUT. .

Job responsibilities

The post holder will: Proactively and positively contribute to the successful overall performance of the Trust. Deliver excellent levels of customer service to all patients/visitors and staff at the Trust. Develop effective ways of working and create strong partnerships and relationships with all stakeholders to support the implementation of the Governments policies on Health. Develop an organisational culture that fosters collaborative working among all staff groups, to ensure a focused commitment to delivering quality services and outcomes. Act as an advocate for the Trust & its contribution to the Health Service arena through creating effective partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Comply with corporate governance structure in keeping with the principles and standards set out by the Trust. Essential

  • Pharmacy services Assistant apprenticeship or equivalent to meet the requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Evidence of numeracy and literacy at level 1
  • Level 2 qualification/GCSE higher pass or above including maths, English and a science, or equivalent qualifications, or work experience that demonstrates comparable ability in a similar field.

  • Essential
  • Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to learn to advance own skills and knowledge.
  • Computer skills
  • Able to work flexibly and prioritise workload
  • Able to distinguish accurately between similar products

  • Able to work safely and effectively under pressure and/or minimal supervision.
