Job summary
Portsmouth Dietitians are looking for a dietitian with an interest in diabetes management to join our specialist diabetes team. This post provides the dietetic service to pregnancy diabetes management and the young persons transition clinics in addition to specialist diabetes clinics. You will work closely alongside the diabetes and maternity diabetes MDT's with the support of another dietitian based within the diabetes team. This post is to succession plan for the retirement of the current post hold and a period of handover and training is available to support the successful applicant. The dietitians are considered key members of the diabetes MDT in Portsmouth, working closely with specialist nurses and consultant colleagues to develop services to meet the rapidly changing face of diabetes management.
Main duties of the job
Portsmouth Dietitians pride ourselves on being a friendly, supportive department. We provide adult and children's dietetic services across acute and community settings for Portsmouth and Southeast Hampshire. This post will be based at Queen Alexandra Hospital. This is a band 7 post but we will consider applicants interested in a band 6-7 development post.

- HCPC Registered dietitian
- Evidence of professional development at Masters level or commitment to postgraduate study

- BDA Member, BDA DSG member
- Post graduate study eg Diabetes Specialist Group course, teaching/education certificate, diploma in advanced dietetic practice, PENG course, BDA specialist group member, BDA branch member, evidence of research experience/working towards Masters level qualification.

- Experienced Dietitian with at least 2 years experience in diabetes with experience in carbohydrate counting and insulin pump therapy)
- Experience of working in multi-professional setting
