Main duties of the job
To co-ordinate and facilitate the procurement of medicines for Portsmouth Hospitals University Trust Homecare patients.
To raise invoices and receipt orders for Homecare patient items on the pharmacy computer system.
Participation in other duties that contribute to the smooth running of the pharmacy homecare service will also be required.

Job responsibilities
Interpret prescriptions for homecare patients to accurately raise orders for homecare medicines with the appropriate supplier via the Well-sky computer system, in a timely, legal and ethically responsible manner to meet patient needs and in accordance with Trust SLAs.
Check order receipts and proof of delivery (when obtained) against the original order and prescription, assist and work to resolve any discrepancies and then ODELIV medicines onto the Well-sky system.
Maintain a complete electronic record by using homecare medicines SOPs using the Well-sky system.
Contribute to good pharmaceutical stock accuracy within the homecare medicines records by ensuring timely computer input and record update to provide an accurate record meeting legal and audit requirements. Participation in stock checks, and audit reporting.
Maintain accurate record and files for all homecare medicines transactions in accordance with legal requirements and local policy.
Assist in developing new systems with both patients and suppliers to ensure trouble-free homecare medicines supply and accountability, maintaining SOPs and updating standard documentation as required.
Act as point of contact and trouble shooter for Homecare patients assisting in the resolution of any problems occurring with patient deliveries. This will involve liaison between both patients and suppliers to ensure problems are resolved / replacements provided and credit notes obtained.
Notify senior colleagues when delays are present or problems unresolved.
Assisting in invoicing as required.
Assist in the training of other pharmacy workers in the duties and tasks within this post to ensure robust cover can be provided when necessary.
Undertake and maintain Local and Trust training including all required academic, practical and portfolio building work in order to achieve NVQ level 2 Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills or modules in area of work where appropriate.
Contribute to the overall tidiness and efficiency of the department / area to include archiving, maintenance of consumables such as containers, stationery and packaging.
Treating all patients and customers with courtesy to project a professional, caring image for the pharmacy Homecare Service.
Contributing to the provision of services within the wider pharmacy service at weekends and bank Holidays as per Rota.
Complete other duties and tasks as requested by the Lead Pharmacy Homecare Technician.
