Job summary

Being a Midwife at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, is a truly remarkable and rewarding career. We recognise that care for our patients and their family continues even after death. The Bereavement Midwife will be responsible for providing a caring and compassionate service, advocating for the family, offering support and reassurance, information and guidance. The successful candidate will act as an educational resource for medical, nursing and midwifery staff on physical, psychological and administrative aspects of bereavement care. In addition this role will have responsibility for maintaining local and National requirements in line with MBRRACE and the Bereavement Care Pathway.

Essential

  • Current RM, registration with NMC and any other relevant post registration qualifications.

Desirable

  • Leadership development programme (can be completed upon appointment)

Experience

Essential

  • Significant demonstrable experience within specialty with evidence of professional development.

Desirable

  • Evidence of team leadership and change management with relevant management/leadership course
  • Evidence of developing policy, guidelines and managing resources
