WPL are excited to have an opening for a Distribution Assistant to join our hard working and friendly team within the Supply Chain Department at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
We are a friendly team of around 40 people on site with the aim of providing a world class service to the SGH Trust.
The working hours for this role are 7.5 hours a day, Monday to Friday based at the Southampton General Hospital.

Job responsibilities
The successful candidate may be required to perform a number of roles, on a rotational basis, as outlined below:
a) Banksman - Controlling the movement of all delivery vehicles and pedestrians to ensure the safe access and egress of the B Level Loading Bay. Giving priority to Trust deliveries and Emergency vehicles. To uphold the compliance to SOPs for the safety of all employees, couriers, drivers, visitors and the public in relation to the Loading Bay area.
b) Receipts Providing the first line of the receipting process in line with the SOP and Trust SFIs.
c) Distribution To deliver materials received at Goods In, in compliance with departmental SOPs, to the point of order and ensure the return of delivery equipment (roll cages, Tote bins etc.) and delivery paperwork are returned.
d) Pharmacy Distribution To distribute pharmacy items in compliance with the relevant SOPs from either the Pharmacy Stores or the Dispensary.
e) Distribution Driver (*Specific Role) This role is filled on a rota basis (driving group C license essential for this sub role only) driving a van around to the outstations on the University Hospital Southampton site for the internal distribution and collection of items in those outstations
