Job summary
Velindre University NHS Trust is keen to appoint a Translator working between English and Welsh to the organisation's Welsh Language Services Team. If you are very interested in translation and language, then this role will be perfect for you. You will contribute to ensuring that Welsh-speaking patients and blood donors have access to the Welsh language.
Please note that this is a role for translation between Welsh and English only. Please read the Person Specification and Job Description before applying, and write your application explaining how you believe you meet the requirements.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Provide a written translation service from English to Welsh and from Welsh to English. This will include the translation of:
- Healthcare material such as patient information leaflets, patient letters and medical instructions from fields as diverse as Physiotherapy to Nutrition.
- Website material for the Trust's website.
- Letters to and from the public and any other correspondence received.
- Social media content such as Facebook posts and Tweets.
- Posters and signage.
- Reports such as the Trust's Annual Report.
- And any other texts as deemed appropriate by the Welsh Language Services Manager.
