Job summary
Working as part of the Velindre University NHS Trust (VUNHST) Digital Services Team, the Digital Infrastructure Lead has the responsibility for the development, maintenance, and support of the IT infrastructure for the Welsh Blood Service and Velindre Cancer Centre.
As the Digital Infrastructure Lead you will be required to take a flexible and innovative approach combined with excellent interpersonal, communication and Organisational skills to ensure that service requirements for Network, client and infrastructure are supported and delivered across Velindre University NHS Trust.
You will be expected to:
- Provide Operational/ Technical Support of multiple services and systems
- Provide support, guidance and technical advice to colleagues and other NHS staff
- Monitor Network and Infrastructure health daily and resolve underlying issues
- Investigate and resolve complex IT issues
- Develop/ improve systems and services in line with Organisational requirements
- Participate in an on-call Rota as required
Main duties of the job
Experience of working within an IT Technical role and support environment is essential for this post and experience/knowledge in the following areas would be advantageous:
- Good Working Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, SQL, IIS
- Practical experience in log analysis
- Working experience in large-scale client upgrades/ refresh programme
- Good knowledge in ITIL service Delivery and Service Support
- Good problem solving skills
- Knowledge/ experience of working with virtual environments (VMware / Hyper-V)
- Knowledge/ experience of working with storage/ backup environments
- Excellent customer and supplier Liaison
- Good working knowledge of Mobile devices/ mobile support
- Knowledge/ Experience of Cisco Networking/ Firewalls/ Telephony
- Experience of writing technical specifications and procurement processes
- Experience of working within a clinical environment
