This is your opportunity to lead the way in ensuring that all bed rails and bed grab handles previously issued within the community have up-to-date risk assessments, fully compliant with MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) regulations. As part of a dynamic team, you will help deliver safety and peace of mind to patients across Royal Devon.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the review and update process for bed rails and bed grab handles, ensuring they meet current MHRA standards.

Work closely with community equipment providers, cross-referencing their system with electronic patient records.

Communicate directly with patients, carers, and families to confirm the ongoing use of equipment, conduct risk assessments, and provide advice on safe usage.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including community rehabilitation teams, community nurses, and social care professionals to ensure risk assessments are up to date.

Maintain accurate records of progress and work in close partnership with senior colleagues.

The Details

Role Type: 6-month fixed-term contract or secondment

Location: North Devon. Base be confirmed on appointment, however, role will involve travel across the RDUH footprint.

Hybrid Working: option for regular hybrid and remote working.

Working Hours: Part-time (30 hours per week), with flexible working hours to be agreed on appointment.

Interview Date: To be confirmed, aiming for week commencing 23rd February 2026
