Job summary
The Ophthalmology Department at the
Royal Devon is proud to be a centre of innovation and ambition, continuously
advancing care and outcomes in the field of ophthalmology.
We are looking to appoint two dynamic
and dedicated Consultant Ophthalmologists with a subspecialty interest in
Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus to join our experienced and supportive
team.
This vacancy is advertising two posts,
one post will be based at North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple, the
second post will be based at the West of England Eye Unit, Royal Devon &
Exeter Hospital (Wonford). However, both postholders will be expected to
deliver activity across both sites, contributing to the delivery of
high-quality paediatric ophthalmology care across the region. This may include
travel to peripheral sites such as South Molton, Bideford, Centre of Excellence
of Eyes, (Nightingale), Axminster and Heavitree, supporting our commitment to
equitable, region-wide care.
The successful candidates will bring expertise in
comprehensive paediatric ophthalmology, an additional subspecialist interest in
complex strabismus or ocular genetics is highly desirable, however any other
areas of interest would be welcomed for the right candidate. A commitment to
general ophthalmology, including outpatient clinics and participation in the
on-call rota, is also essential.
