Job summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full-time medicines management technician (MMT) to work alongside our Band 6 MMT within the Cancer Service at the Eastern (Exeter) site of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The Hospital is a busy cancer centre, offering a wide range of Systemic Anticancer Therapies (SACT) to all disease sites.
You will be joining our team at an exciting time, as we become further integrated into multidisciplinary developments within the wider cancer SACT service. Working as part of an experienced team of 6 cancer services clinical pharmacists, and the Band 6 specialist medicines management technician, we provide oncology and haematology ward support, SACT screening, clinical SACT trial screening, and JACIE accredited transplant service support.
Our department is integral to the current cancer services strategy of upskilling team members to meet increasing demand for SACT, and we have a pharmacy satellite station in our newly integrated haematology/oncology SACT day unit to provide excellent near patient care.
We are looking for a self-motivated candidate who is able to work both independently and effectively as part of our team.
We are committed to developing our specialist MMT technicians, working closely with the BOPA (British Oncology Pharmacy Association) credentialing.
As valued members of the cancer services team, and with plenty of scope to develop in the role, our pharmacists enjoy a high level of job satisfaction.
