Job summary

Sidmouth Community Hospital sits within the Seaton, Axminster and Sidmouth Cluster which has an attractive mix of rural villages and coastal towns whilst being only 30 minutes drive from Exeter and the market town of Axminster providing excellent rail links to London and Exeter. The Cluster is set in a landscape of outstanding natural beauty and part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site an ideal landscape for coastal walks, fishing harbours and beautiful beaches. We have an exciting opening for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the integrated multi-disciplinary team providing bed based intermediate care at Sidmouth Community Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking service with high morale and a commitment to supporting people to return home from hospital. You will be well supported and encouraged to continuously develop your skills related to the role. We offer flexibility in working patterns and the chance to practice with true autonomy.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in rehabilitation of older people, intermediate care, multi-disciplinary working and management of patients with a wide variety of long-term conditions including complex neurological, orthopaedic, dementia and falls prevention. The emphasis is on maximising patient independence and quality of life through assessment and rehabilitation to support patient discharge home from hospital. The cluster also provides excellent community rehabilitation services helping to maintain patients independence at home, prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and supports the discharge process from hospital

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday 08:00- 16:00 with weekend working on a rota basis
