Job summary

This clinical research post has been developed in collaboration with industry partners to deliver cutting edge research on new biomarkers in the field of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. There will also be opportunity to capitalise on access to the Royal Devon and Exeter Biobank to expand work within your own field of interest. Candidates will also be able to continue/further clinical experience in the outpatient and endoscopy settings.

The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital seeks applicants for the role of clinical research fellow in hepatology. You will be expected to register for a clinical MD/PhD with the University of Exeter where you will receive specific and structured training in clinical research methodology. As above, the main focus of this research will be on biomarkers in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, but there will be opportunity for the successful candidate to pursue their own area of research interest. We would welcome individual study proposals alongside the industry collaboration.

This post does not carry its own National Training Number (NTN). Any appointee who already holds an NTN will be expected to apply to their host clinical training programme for out of programme for research (OOPR).

Working Pattern:

Full time research with option to undertake clinical work (clinic/endoscopy) in addition
