Job summary
Solent NHS Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, capable and caring individual to join our Community Nursing Team in Southampton as a Health Care Support Worker in the Southampton Community Nursing Service.
If successful, you will be working as part of a community nursing team based at Royal South Hants Hospital. Community nursing provides care and treatment for adults with complex health and care needs. This care is provided in their own homes, care homes and clinic settings. You will be lone working but also part of a supportive team.
Candidates will ideally be in possession of an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, but full training will be provided to enable you to fulfil your role. Training will be provided in a variety of ways -- attending training sessions, online and working 1:1 with other clinical staff. Solent NHS Trust is committed to your career development and there are numerous opportunities and pathways for this.
The role includes:
*Wound care -- chronic and acute wounds
*Prevention, identification and management of pressure ulcers
*Administration of medications, including some injectable medication
*Continence care
*Supporting end of life care
*Working with other health and social care teams
The Community Nursing service covers from 0830-2200, 7 days a week. Shift patterns are 0830-1630 and 1400-2200. This includes weekends and bank holidays, with an expectation of working 1 in 4 weekends.
