We are looking for a Senior Nurse - Non-Medical Prescriber to join our CAMHS team!
This role requires a qualified Nurse Prescriber (V300) who has experience working with children and families, and holds a current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. You will be working as part of the wider CAMHS team in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will work alongside other Nurse Prescribers, within a multidisciplinary team, completing specialist assessments and delivering interventions to children, young people, and their parents/carers, including pharmacological interventions as a Non-Medical Prescriber.
The CAMHS team in Portsmouth are made up of a multidisciplinary team who aim to support children in their mental health recovery at home with their families. The team is based at Falcon House, in the wider grounds of St James, which has a garden overlooked by trees, with resident squirrels, as well as the welcoming clinic rooms inside the building.

Main duties of the job
*Maintaining own caseload and working as an independent prescriber in CAMHS. Using pharmacological interventions in accordance with NICE guidance.
*Being responsible for delivering highly specialist psychiatry in a way that is integrated with the work of other disciplines within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.
*Providing expertise and highly specialist child psychiatry advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, contributing directly to family treatment plans.
*Oversee the provision of highly specialist child psychiatry input into the placements of trainees and a range of professions
*Managing referrals and assess the needs of children and families, develop, implement and evaluate appropriate interventions.
*Contribute a specialist child psychiatric perspective in team clinical management discussions.
*To attend Case Conferences, Core Group Meetings, TAC's and other relevant meetings as required.
*To ensure children, young people and their carers are included in planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
*To ensure that care is delivered in a person-centred manner ensuring gender, cultural and spiritual needs of service users inform practice.
*To act in accordance with legal requirements within the Mental Health Act 1983, the Children Act 1994 and other relevant legislation
*To have knowledge of and act in accordance with Portsmouth City Safeguarding Children's Board.
*To ensure that knowledge of advances in research and development are up to date.

We have been working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust to be formed by July 2024.Project Fusion is the name for the programme to create the new combined NHS Foundation Trust. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be bringing the services into a single organisation will result in more consistent care, more equitable access to services irrespective of postcode, and a more sustainable workforce and services. The new organisation will operate locally to ensure services can best meet the needs of different communities.The new Trust will be comprised of all the services currently provided by Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, the community, mental health and learning disability services provided by Isle of Wight NHS Trust and child and adolescent mental health services delivered in parts of Hampshire by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.Colleagues will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) -- known as TUPE on 1st July 2024. TUPE is a legal process to ensure you transfer out of one organisation and into another, maintaining the terms and conditions of your employment.
